My only bug bear over the years has been that because it uses the computer's memory (the same for all the Epson printers I have owned), when printing even a regular document, my PC becomes very sluggish, sometimes even coming to a complete standstill. When printing the larger formats, an A3+ full colour glossy @ 1440dpi takes around 40 minutes to print and the PC is pretty useless during that time.

Having said that, the quality really is superb and with non-Epson cartridges readily available for a fraction of the price of "genuine" cartridges, it has been very cheap to run, especially given the workload I have put it through (I am a graphic designer working from home).

But totally out of the blue, I turned it on the other day and all the lights are flashing. This is a straight "contact your dealer" response in the troubleshooter. No warning, nothing. Bin fodder apparently.

But here I am, searching the web for another 1160 (so it can't be that bad!) and Amazon is the cheapest, so here we go again .....
