Customer Rating: Summary: Little wonder Comment: This printer is a gem. It's tiny, and it's designed for laptop users, but the prints it gives are better quality than my previous desktop printer (an Epsom photo printer). The cartridges are tiny, but last for a surprisingly long time.
The cool thing is that you can get optional extras like a bluetooth adapter, battery a car charger, which make this thing a really handy go-anywhere device.
True story: I was once driving to the airport, and got stuck in traffic. I would have missed my plane, except that I was able to pull over, check in online with my laptop, and print my boarding pass with this printer. That bought me an extra hour.
So, it's small enough to take in your laptop bag, and you never know when it's going to be useful.
The only caveat is that I can't really see much difference between the i70, i80 and i90, so just buy whichever is the cheapest. You won't be disappointed.
Customer Rating: Summary: fantastic bit of kit Comment: had this printer for nearly two years now, and have to say its 1 of my better purchases. the bluetooth module and battery pack are expensive, but that aside, its great, never let me down, does fantastic photo prints upto a4, and is quick. love the way it closes up to be portable or stored away, feels quality and is......very happy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great little printer !! Comment: I bought the PIXMA i90 on the back of the reviews here. Having been a fan and supporter of Epson in the past, I wonder why I waited so long? I am not a heavy user but do like to mess around with photos quite a bit and have been delighted with the results. It is neat, quiet and fast and I`m looking forward to taking it away with me on my travels. I used to use third party inks with my Epsons but am determined to use Canon products and continue with the great results already achieved. The tiny little ink cartridges were a bit of a shock but they seem to be lasting well and I don`t have any serious issues with them. Not the cheapest printer around by any means but for me, I believe I have purchased a great little printer at a decent price and am perfectly happy with it so far - long may it continue.

Customer Rating: Summary: Canon's answer to portable ink jet printing for business Comment: A real shame for Canon discontinuing their BJC series of portable printers. Their BJC-85 was their last model and despite it never excelled in photo printing, it was pretty much the standard for the mobile business users.
When our BJC-85 broke down, we were scrambling in finding a replacemtn and ended up with the ip90. We thought buying the latest portable model would give us greater print yields. Like cars and trucks, you can say "they don't make them like they use to..."
For business users on the road that print countless invoices, there is no point in printing nice fancy coloured documents. This is where the older BJC series (50 - 85) shined in that they had the dedicated BC-10 black ink print head. Canon's ip90 with their BCI-15 black ink tank holding a measling 5.5ml is not the answer. SERIOUSLY how many pages can you print with 5.5ml of black ink?
Those that depend on black & white prints while on the road, go back to buying the older BJC series printers with the dedicated b/w ink tank. At least the BCI-10 (ink that it uses) holds 9.5ml and easily refillable.
I know it will be sad that eventually all the BC-10 print heads will be used up as they are no longer made in production.
Customer Rating: Summary: surprising Comment: I bought one in April 2006 simply on size and weight for not very heavy use on the move. I have a large HP A3 at home. I did not expect it to produce such good quality print or to be quite as fast. I did not expect the tiny cartridges to last quite as long. I still use the HP, but I also use the Canon at home more than expected. It is particularly good at printing to the edges of A4 and for knocking off some quick copy. There is no paper catcher, this needs a little care to prevent copy smudging. (I let the copies drop to the floor)
Brilliant little printer. very pleasing.
