Summary: A Good Business Inkjet
Comment: I've had this printer for over a year now and have generally been satisfied with it experiencing no real problems. I have the basic model without the extra 250 sheet feeder or the duplex option, I bought it primarily for the A3 facility.
It installed without any problems under Windows XP, I now have the option of PCL or Postscript as I choose at time of printing. And the print quailty is superb for general business use, I've rarely used it for photos, but cannot fault its quality for business purposes. It's also suprisingly quick too. I haven't experienced the paper handling problems that some have, but then I only have the one tray anyway - with which it seems to work fine and will, for the most part, print 50 or 100 sheets at a time without hicup.
The cartridges seem to last well, using all the available ink, and there's a helpful software facility that allows you to see the amount of ink left in each of the four cartridges.
Build quality, esp of the trays, as has been mentioned, could be better and it's disappointing that a business machine, which one would expect to be quite robust, is a little too flimsy in places. Had the build quality been better, I'd havce given this five stars.

Summary: Standards are slipping
Comment: We bought this printer as we needed the A3 colour facility. We have had HP printers in the past & found them to be of good quality & reliable. Unfortunately, this printer was neither. We are just about to send our 2nd one back due to faults. The 1st printer had a minor, but annoying fault & the replacement one doesn't work at all! The previous reviewer was right about the paper handling, it is very poor. Our advice would be - don't choose this printer!

Summary: Very poor for a Hewlett Packard product
Comment: Having used HP printers for over 15 years this product has been a great disappointment. I bought this for my business as we needed more colour printing capacity.
First out it is very difficult to set up. We use W2K and wanted to install the postscript driver. The software would not install correctly to start with and uninstalling it meant using a scrubber program to remove the remnants of the old installation. Eventually after around four goes we got it set-up. However, the problems do not stop there.
We have the twin tray model and it constantly takes the paper from the wrong tray or the automatic paper sensor says we have the wrong paper in the tray when we don't!
The print quality is good if you can get it out of the thing, however the number of wasted prints makes it a very expensive printer to run. We have resorted to taking all the paper out of both trays when the job finishes, and then only putting in the paper we need for the specific job when we need it. This is an attempt to reduce wasted paper, which is expensive when it is photo quality.
It is poor at paper handling, with paper often feeding crooked, or incorrectly meaning the print is not where it should be on the paper. This seems to be a feature of the paper trays being extremely flimsy.
The paper handling mechanism is also very noisy, making clicks, groans and whirrs as it tries to pick up the paper.
Overall a very disappointing purchase and one we will be replacing as soon as we can justify it. My recommendation would be to look at other wide format ink jets from Epson etc. and not buy this product.
