Comment: When our old Canon printer needed replacing, we bought a multi-function Canon PIXMA MP510 because independent reviewers said the photo quality was as good as stand-alone photo printers.

Whilst the picture quality was superb on plain paper, the glossy paper we were using was very disappointing. This was bought from a PC chain store and was "Ideal for Epson, HP, Canon and Lexmark printers". However, the ink wouldn't 'fix' to the glossy surface and produced results like a cracked oil painting. We hadn't encountered this problem with the old printer so I thought the fault lay with the new one.

A switch to Canon paper was the answer. Picture quality is stunning and every bit as good as prints produced from a negative. It will be Canon paper every time from now on.
