Customer Rating: Summary: Quite the most useless printer made Comment: This printer is totally useless. It wastes reames of paper and ink. It has NEVER, EVER printed a print run without problems. I bought it to replace an A3 format HP 1220c printer which has been discontined, but was a much better, very acceptable, printer - so much for progress. I print from a CAD programme and the print preview is unbeliveably poor, basically it doesn't work! I therfore have to carry out a trial print to check my drawings then scrap the prints. The paper feed doesn't work properly (and I only use HP paper). It won't print hatching correctly and what's the point of providing a large format printer with small capacity ink cartridges? I'm forever changing them and they are expensive. I intend to scrap this printer, it's only 6 months old, but it would be unfair to sell it to an innocent purchaser, I just wish HP had this attitude. Don't touch this printer with a bargepole, except to push it into the canal! The 1 star rating is the minimum Amazon allow me to award, but it doesn't even deserve this. Hewlett Packard need to get their act together with this one! I didn't expect perfect printouts, nor a trouble free set-up. I just wanted the printer to perform like its marketing promised.
After six months use the printer has reduced me to tears. It hasn't produced one good print out since I got it. I have wasted reams of paper and countless cartridges testing various set-ups in a vain attempt to get a decent printout yet the machine defeats my every attempt inventing ever more sophisticated methods of ruining the results.
I would never buy another Hewlett Packard product. My experience of their customer services: utterly useless.
