Summary: You don't need a TV with this product
Comment: This is an excellent product. With this cable you can connect your XBOX 360 directly to PC monitor (VGA port). Since a decent TFT monitor is a lot cheaper than a HDTV then it's a "no brainer".
You can get cheaper cables that do the same thing but I would expect the quality to be poorer.

Summary: Definitely worth the price
Comment: I use my XBOX360 with my 20 inch Samsung lcd monitor which has both digital (DVI) and analog (VGA)inputs. The 360 and my PC were preveiously connected to my monitor via DVI (using an HDMI to DVI adaptor). So the VGA cable would save me from swapping inputs between the PC and XBOX.
I first bought one of the cheaper models from Amazon and it had a "ghosting effect"(probably because of interference from other devices which is usually caused by no or improper cable shielding), other reviews had pointed out this problem and mentioned that it doesn't exist with the original Microsoft cable. This is so very correct! as now that I use Microsoft cable the picture quality is very sharp and colour is great. The sharpness is very slightly less than HDMI but I noticed that movement of the picture is much more fluid instead with the VGA cable (maybe it's what they call input lag), so much that gaming is markedly more enjoyable using VGA. It has even made me consider VGA for PC gaming too!
I absolutely recommend the cable for this purpose.
with the new Microsoft 360 upgrade called "the new XBOX experience" almost every existing lcd resolution is supported (including my 1680*1050), which has a HUGE impact on image quality. before this upgrade, the picture on my monitor was blury and not very enjoyable but now it is razor sharp. You just have to change the display settings in the dashboard and choose you monitor's "native resolution". it is truly wonderful!

Summary: Highly recommended if you have an LCD monitor
Comment: This is an excellent product which I am now using in combination with the LG monitor below.

It gives a much sharper picture than component/composite and the motion is much smoother on this screen too.
With the upcoming XBL fall update including 1680x1050 support through VGA or HDMI using this or similar monitor/TVs will mean you can use its native resolution giving (hopefully) excellent image quality.
One thing to note that is not mentioned anywhere is that you actually get a 2 phono to 3.5mm headphone adaptor in the box so you can use line in on whatever audio equipment you use (I use the line in on the above monitor, with speakers plugged into the headphone socket)
If you have a similar monitor to the one above, then I would highly recommend this cable, it is very much worth the money !

Summary: Brilliant!!!! piece of kit
Comment: Do not hesitate to buy this if u are the following:
1. A gamer looking to play your games in HD
2. A gamer looking to save some money and not buy an elite or HDTV
I bought a projector for my room and I used this cable and on my wall.... 53 inches of of pure HD!!!
I unfortunatly had to sell my projector because I could not afford a new bulb for it.
so i now use my PC monitor its got a res of 1680*1050 and I can set the xbox to either 1080P or 720P SO BUY THIS FOR THE HD EXPERIENCE:P

Summary: Overpriced
Comment: This cable works perfectly fine, but I have given it a low score for two reasons. Firstly, the cables that go to your speakers are only about a foot long from momitor connecter end. Basically this means that unless you have your PC speakers right next to your monitor, the cable will not be long enough to plug into them. Secondly, if you will be using the monitor for your PC and 360, this cable does not have a splitter to connect both at the same time. If you will be swapping between the two, get another cable.
I gave this a low score because it is overpriced compared to other cables, and I'd have expected a lot more.
