HP Photosmart D7160 User Reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: HP comes up trumps for Photos! Comment: I bought this printer because of the excellent reviews of it as a Photo specific printer. I do a lot of photography and always want excellent quality prints. If you use decent quality paper (240g/sm at least) then the photos are really of a super quality. I can't fault the quality of them - at A4 size or below. The software is also good and gives you many different versions of print size and orientation (similarly you can print birthday cards etc if that's your bag). The excellent quality of the colours is probably down to the 6 different cartridges which can be replaced individually if you happen to use a lot of yellow etc OR You can buy an HP Photo Value Pack for less than £30 (non-HP versions can be cheaper OR there are reservoir systems which last many many times as long but CAN be fraught with problems). If you want an all-singing, all-dancing printer which does scanning and photo-copying also then that's fine - choose something else but if you want a printer which just prints excellent quality photo prints (plus your normal everyday printing) then this is the one for you - you won't be sorry! I often find myself spending 1/2 hour + trying to make the printer realise that there is paper in the tray, and this is even more difficult when it is photo paper. If you can over come this problem then it is an excellant printer Customer Rating: Summary: BRILLIANT Comment: Ordered on Wed and got it today (11/4). Read all what everyone else had to say and then decided to get it from someone who I assume was a first time seller and all I can say is that he is great. As a professional Photograper I rate this machine 100% reliable. Didn't take long to work out how to use it and after the intial getting itself sorted out which lasted a few mins and made a lot of funny noises, it was ready for work and beleive it had a lot of work waiting for it as I was in the middle of printing from my xD card when my Lexmark died. It does take around 2 mins to print but I don't mind. If you want something that prints fast, your best bet is not to buy this machine. If you want excellant colour and sharp clear photo's then this is the baby for you. The on machine instruction are so clear and easy to understand which is good for people like me. If I have the nerve then maybe I'll play around with it and print directly from my camera's and my computer but for now I'm so very happy just printing from my card.Finally the price was very good. Despite shaking the table upon which it's mounted each time it's switched on, it has proved a very capable machine and is producing top notch prints. A nice feature is the ink level meter that gives you plenty of time to purchase refills. I'm pleased with it... Customer Rating: Summary: A real printer. Comment: I replaced my old HP printer with a D7160 some months ago. I am extremely pleased with, the results are well up to my expectation and of course it uses a multi cartridge system for the ink which makes one realise how prehistoric the black/colour system was. The D7160 is versatile and in my opinion superior to the all in one machines. One thing that puzzles me is what all the whirring, chattering and shaking is for before and after printing. I'm sure it's been replaced by something better and cheaper by now but that's life.
