Samsung CLP-300 Colour Laser Printer User Reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Great quality print - shame the paper won't feed properly Comment: I bought this printer for pretty low volume use at home and was attracted by the high quality colour printing at reasonable speed. I've now had it for about 18mths and just after a year it started mis-feeding: the paper would start to feed and then jam. Like others I contacted Samsung helpline who suggested wiping the feed wheel with a damp cloth - which worked for a while. I've now reached a point where it seems to jam just about every time I try to print anything - especially when I'm in a hurry. And as others have pointed out the toner packs are not cheap! Very disappointing for what looks 'in store' like a pretty good buy. Customer Rating: Summary: Total Rubbish Comment: Cheap but not very cheerful. Reasonable print quality but every other sheet jams-jams-jams. Total rubbish - avoid. Customer Rating: Summary: Avoid this printer Comment: Avoid this printer. It jams, makes a loud noise sometimes when printing, print qaulity isn't so good. It seems to use a lot of colour ink even though mainly printing in B&W. It seems to have been designed to jam, with just as much thought going into making it impossible to clear the jam without damaging the machine. My machine is now jammed so badly, and has ink-laden paper melted onto an internal roller, that I am about to throw it out! Total rubbish! Customer Rating: Summary: Great Value Colour Laser Printer Comment: Bought this printer (network version) elsewhere as it was cheaper (sorry Amazon) after reading about it here. The text and colours are very strong on first printing. I went into the easy to use smart panel (it's on the supplied disk) and went into the colour settings and took them all from 0 to -5. This made the colour and black print just what i needed and apparently it uses less toner! I then went into the driver settings, went to 'graphics' and put the settings to draft, saving further toner. The results are impressive and better than my injet printer which cost more than double the cost of this printer. I should say that I have not tried to print photo's as I use online companies for this, but may give it a try and update this review at some point. I have not had a single paper jam using Tesco value and finest paper and find the described speed of printing pretty accurate making this a fast home printer. For those who experienced paper jams maybe they simply overloaded the paper tray? I also have had no problems with the toner test page issue as the printer remains on all the time as it is on the network. Warm up time is ok if asleep and power consumption is low when not in use. The set up and install was simple. I have found toner refills on ebay for £20.00 for the whole lot (b-c-y-m) making this a longet term good buy. A small and inexpensive tool is required to do this. Overall, at this price this printer is excellent value for money - I couldn't find a comparable laser from anyone else at this cost. I would say Buy It from my experience of the product.
