Customer Rating: Summary: Dont but this, RIP OFF ! Comment: Do not buy this as it is a total rip off. It drinks ink like it is going out of fashion ! Three colour ink cartriges last about 10 copies ! As soon as you replace one new cartrige it tells you the rest are empty or nearly empty even if you just replaced them the day before. If i didnt know any better i think Epson programme these printers to do so. I have spoken to Epson about it and are not interested.
I am going back to Kodak and save myself a fortune on ink. SCAM !
Customer Rating: Summary: Won't Let You Print Unless all Colour Ink is Full Comment: Printing with coloured ink ends up being very expensive. So I rather just use black ink. But this printer has other ideas. You have to always have ink in all the coloured cartridges to print, even if your black ink cartridge is completely full and you just want to print in black. And it lets you know this clearly by a big advertisement sign popping up saying replace ink cartridges and giving you a link to Epson's website, selling you more expensive coloured ink. Even if you were to buy the coloured ink and just not use them but just use the black ink, this printer is so rubbish that the coloured ink dries up in a few months without any use and your back to not being able to even print in just black ink again. I find this absolutely ridiculous and actually immoral from Epson. I will never purchase their products again.
Customer Rating: Summary: One of the Worst Printers i have ever had Comment: I bought this printer due to the cheapness and the low running costs. Although the Ink Cartridges are cheap to buy, the printer would randomly decide not to use the inks when i replaced them. This resulted in me having to clean the heads 4 or 5 times before it would work properly, wasting 3/4 of the "Cheap" ink cartridge.
Another flaw in this printer is that it will not let you print once one of your cartridges reaches about 20%, even if you dont need to use that colour, so more ink wastage. This means of course if your cyan is running low, you cant print a black and white letter out, even if it only uses the black ink. fail.
I advise to stay clear of this printer, it is not very good. I will be buying another as soon as i can afford one, and will probably go HP.
Hope this helps some of you.
Customer Rating: Summary: garbage Comment: Do not buy this printer whatever you do-It is noisy as hell, allignment is unforgivable and the cost of replacing cartridge will cost you a fortune. Will never, ever buy another Epson product-an absolute joke
Customer Rating: Summary: Less than a year's lifetime - bad quality throughout. Junk. Comment: I bought this printer 8 months ago, to replace a previous epson printer that broke unexpectedly (all lights started blinking one day out of the blue). My main reason for buying it was the cheaper(??) ink prices.
I can't say I was ever extremely happy with the quality of the printouts, even at best quality setup, but I could live with it.
I always had problems replacing an ink - most of the times it wouldn't recognise it, even though it was genuine, and when it did it did not use it right away. As a result, I ended up having to do the cleaning utility at least four times each time I changed an ink cartridge. And even then, sometimes it would just decide to print pictures with one of the colours missing.
After only 8 months of use, it presented with the same problem as the old one - without any warnings, all the lights started blinking and my laptop couldn't communicate with it. I can't get it to react at all - it just blinks.
Troubleshooting advised that there might be a serious problem and to contact dealer. I did, only to be told it would cost me as much as I bought it to get it fixed.
This time I'm going for an HP. Hope I have better luck.
