Summary: Less than a year's lifetime - bad quality throughout. Junk.
Comment: I bought this printer 8 months ago, to replace a previous epson printer that broke unexpectedly (all lights started blinking one day out of the blue). My main reason for buying it was the cheaper(??) ink prices.
I can't say I was ever extremely happy with the quality of the printouts, even at best quality setup, but I could live with it.
I always had problems replacing an ink - most of the times it wouldn't recognise it, even though it was genuine, and when it did it did not use it right away. As a result, I ended up having to do the cleaning utility at least four times each time I changed an ink cartridge. And even then, sometimes it would just decide to print pictures with one of the colours missing.
After only 8 months of use, it presented with the same problem as the old one - without any warnings, all the lights started blinking and my laptop couldn't communicate with it. I can't get it to react at all - it just blinks.
Troubleshooting advised that there might be a serious problem and to contact dealer. I did, only to be told it would cost me as much as I bought it to get it fixed.
This time I'm going for an HP. Hope I have better luck.

Comment: changing cartridges was giving me so much problems. when the colour one runs out, you
can not use the black only either. I think no one bothered to do proper tests before releasing it for sale. I hope no one end up with the problems I had. Just stay away from epson brand

Summary: Good Printer Shame about the Ink!
Comment: I never found any problems with the printer itself. It always did the job fairly well although i only used it for the scanner and normal printing. However where i did find problems was when it came to replacing the ink.
Firstly when you lift the lid you can't take out the cartridges as they are hidden. A simple one press button would have helped. Instead you need to go via the control panel, printer, to select, replace ink and then it moves it to the gap where you can take it out. Secondly i tried several 100% compatible inks and the printer rejected them so you must use Epson ink which drains very quickly. So to summerise... don't just look at the price of the printer consider the Epson ink and decide if it is viable. If you want a printer that is cheaper to run long term, then go for the Kodak 3250. It is more expensive to buy but you'll make your money back in ink as proved by independant tests!

Comment: Had this printer scanner for a while now so thought to give a review here. the price is very good and before I had an Epson 760 so it had to be as good as my old one, well to start with do not bother with epson refills overpriced and can dry up, I got the cheapie refills here on amazon and they last and at 3 -5 quid a set are good value.
Okay about the printer quite noisy when loading and printing, but does the everyday print jobs (kids homework letters etc) I have not yet printed any quality stuff so cannot comment on that. The paper holder/ feeder are not so good as the paper is not so well supported and can load crooked. For the sake of some more plastic for the paper to lie back on thats all it would need and the slider to hold paper in place is a bit "vague" also fiddly paper tray at the other end is annoying to open and close. Also the top of the scanner lid is very "glossy" lovely for collecting dust! But apart from those little niggles its an okay printer and scans okay. Improvement on my old 760 are the buttons are decent. also nice feature is the SD card slot for your photos So good printer but paper in and out could be better.

Comment: Bought this to replace an old HP 5150 and a canon flatbed scanner. This is rubbish. Scanner bed is on an angle so everything slides before you can close the lid. The paper feed constantly jams unless you are using standard photocopy type paper (it struggles with anything thicker or thinner). It is noisy; the "paper grab" makes a ridiculously loud "clunk". Worst of all is the ink usage; it absolutely drinks the ink and the heads need almost constant cleaning. "Compatible" cartidges, and even Epson own brand ones, last a week or so of light use, then I get the "... this cartridge is not compatible ..." message. Epson's insistence on using chipped cartridges, which you can't refill, never mind buy compatible version of is, quite frankly, ridiculous. Shockingly bad piece of kit. I will never touch an Epson again.
