Summary: A very good all-in-one machine
Comment: Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this all-in-one machine.

Scanning is fine, although I am yet to use this feature extensively. Copying is easy and reasonably fast. The quality of printing is very good. The speed of printing is acceptable too.

One downside for me is the time it takes for the printer to start printing once I send a document to print. Sometimes it takes a little too long for my liking to actually start printing - there is quite a lot of print head aligning etc. going on. However, this happens only when the printer hasn't been used for a while.

Also, although I am reasonably technically minded, the initial wireless setup was not an easy task. You need to follow the user guide instructions very carefully. Adding additional PCs wirelessly was not a problem.

So, provided you overcome the initial difficulties with the wireless setup and don't mind having to wait slightly longer for the printer to get ready to print, you will be happy with this machine.


PS - I had it set up on Win XP and Vista, and it works on Win 7 too.

Comment: I'd say this printer is ok but not great. Print quality is good enough but not amazing, but it seems to me to eat ink and getting A4 paper into it is very awkward, and it often jams so you often need to open up the paper drawer and pull out the crumpled piece. It is also quite slow to print, ie there is quite a delay between hitting print and the printer starting to whirr into action. Wouldn't buy another. Have always had hp in the past and certainly don't see this as an improvement.

Summary: Great for a while
Comment: I have had my printer since September, it was my second one as the first had a pixel error on the scanning plate. I use the machine in its wireless free mode. I was unable, due to poor health, to use the machine in October and started using it again this week. The first time I used this printer, in September, I was impressed but this time it was like using a totally different machine. I had often experienced dealing with the phantom message alerting me to 'no paper' but this time it was warning me at every page I tried to print, no matter how many papers I added or removed from the paper tray. It ate paper. It spat a project out, half way through printing but insisted it was still printing the project! I had to cancel the print queue. It did this twice. I took the project to my other PC and printer, to ensure that it wasn't a fault with the CD Rom that I was using, my Cannon MP390 series printed it without a hitch. The Canon PIXMA MP620 series now will not load and work with papers that it has previously been happy to print on. I has now frozen completely.

I rang Canon and they say it is a hardware fault. This sudden breakdown is very frustrating. The machine is being returned to Amazon, it is such a shame that this promising machine has had a bit of a nervous breakdown.
