Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent wi-fi printer Comment: I was apprehensive in purchasing this printer as first time experience on amazon. But i have to say delivery was rapid and trackable. As for the printer itself it is excellent, the wi-fi works flawlessly with my laptop was linked with my bt home hub whilst connected via usb to my desktop. The print quality is fantastic and prints quite quickly. The paper feed is ideal for me as my last lexmark was a limited quanity at the back you feed through but this you jusy pop it in a draw type location. The touchscreen is superb and i like the way you can pull screen forward. As for camera uploading still getting used to that but by using HP photosmart window gallery its fairly easy to do. Also being able to view picz on the screen is a bonus.
The photocopyer and scanner are easy to do and very quick.
Cartridges are easy to install once you get past the unclipping of the seal (apprehensive as didnt want to break the ink cart)
Overall a 10/10 purchase and well worth the money i paid. And i will be purchasing off amazon again.
The only negative is its a little noisy but it is right next to me on my desk.
Customer Rating: Summary: Unreliable? Or not? Comment: I have serious reservations about this printer but don't necessarily be put off.
I owned (and loved) an HP 970cxi printer for many years which was connected to my PC using the Centronics parallel cable that was the norm then. It printed beautifully and also had full duplex (printed both sides). It was 100% reliable and would still be in use if I hadn't bought a new computer which only has USB.
So I stayed with HP, chose this model . . . and since it has wireless I decided to connect it using my home wireless network.
When it prints, is does a good job but my experience so far is that it's a 50/50 chance whether it prints or not. When it does print, it does it quickly and efficiently (though it does clatter more than the old one). But often, it just doesn't print. Resetting it or fiddling about with the print dialogue usually gets it printing in the end but what an unnecessary fiddle! The other thing it does, often, is begin printing and then stop half way. It then proceeds to make one pass, wait for 30 seconds, make another pass, etc. The other morning I sent two single-sided Word documents to the printer at 08.45. By 9.30 when I had to leave, one had printed and the other was half way through. This is a very normal (and extremely irritating) occurrence. Why does it happen? Don't ask me! Is it a wireless issue or a printer one? I don't know.
Oh, and by the way, the ink cartridges they give you with the printer look normal but contain very little ink so after a few pages you get 'low ink' warnings - which seems very miserly to me.
All in all, I'm very dissatisfied so far. But I believe it will be all right in the end. You decide.
Customer Rating: Summary: Oh wow. Comment: I really cannot fault this printer. Excellent resolution and stunning colours when set on high res. A doddle to set up, it pretty much did it itself from the onboard screen. I have it hardwired to my husbands desktop, and use it wifi from my laptop, which it copes with without a hitch. The only downside is that there don't seem to be any generic cartridges on the market yet, but I'm sure they will soon follow.
Customer Rating: Summary: HP Photosmart Printer Comment: I am very happy with our choice - it looks really smart and feels solid. we installed it wirelessly through the BT home hub and it connected to my mac book straight away. The Black ink vanished really quick but we are hoping it was a 'starter' cartridge and normal ones will last longer. we have easily scanned, stored and reprinted documents while the printer is not connected to the computer through the touch screen - it really is idiot proof
